Entry 06 - Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garcons

Rei Kawakubo

She was a Japanese fashion designer, founder of Comme des Garcons.

How great she is to influences the western society.
“Everyone is influenced by Comme des Garcons,” Marc Jacobs told Women’s Wear Daily
How did she influence people to change the perception on different way looking of women wears?
In 1997, she question out of the very shape of a woman bodies. It been know as the Bump collection, it deformed the silhoutte with Quasimodo-style padded lumps placed strangely and strategically on model's back, shoulder and hips.  This has actually influenced the Western perspective on body adornment and the meaning of cloth.

Besides that she had also changed the France fashion world by turning conservative thinking of dress could not be black (black was not a color to be worn during the day or to be used on dress during that time). In fact, she also created another version of cloths that used the traditional textile, making it into a more masculine, street cultural dress . This is to also to teaches what it mean to be a woman in a male dominated society.

Besides that, she had also turning the radical (things that is unfinished or asymmetry), this has appear during spring 2004, she did a  voluminous cut from the traditional fabrics, while itstead of wearing like a blouse, it wear up over the bare breast. Despite that, her influences to people are fueled by her consistence of provocation. She challenged the concept of  that fashion is meant to be beautiful or to be beautiful.

Entry 05 - how celebrities in China affects the consumer market

How celebrities in China affect the consumer market

In this 21st century, fashion based media is become a up-rise in the whole world; including the south east Asia .  While women are the leading role in this industry, i would like to introduce the woman that i personally thinks that she rocks the industry.

 Fan bing bing 范冰冰

She was indeed one of the favorites woman idol of all time.
Her role in the industry were she was the number one on "50 most beautiful people in China". While with her amazing look and wide variety of style, she afford that title.

Brian Buchwald, CEO of Bomoda, a website providing information for Chinese luxury goods consumers, said
"She is a risk taker, she breaks the mold  She makes her own fashion choices and while many Chinese women may not be comfortable enough to wear what Fan Bing bing may wear, just the fact that she's out there making certain choices becomes very inspirational for them,"
he added "So if Fan Bingbing is a fashion icon in China, then Chinese women will buy what Fan Bingbing wears in a way that is much more qualitative than we see with western celebrities and western luxury consumers,"

He mention that the Chinese consumer is relatively new to the luxury market, while they are heavily influences by celebrities. While this has make a assumption, if Fan bing bing were the fashion icon in China, this will actually influences the women in China, their daily ideas of how they wear and the attitudes of becoming luxuries.

Annotations.

I could say that, women's are the primary consumer in the fashion industry, while someone who have great fame and wearing beautiful brands it actually inspired someone to become like that. As from what i mention that China consumer are relatively new to the luxury market, while to get this started they need a significant icon of luxury and fashion in order to suits the brand. While this had also portray how big is the influences that a Artist can actually move a person by getting them inspiring their daily wear and attitude lifestyles.

Hence this was a interesting facts that how actually people are trying inspired by someone big and it actually change their life systematically.

Entry - 03 How media portray woman.

The modern days, the role of woman are not like the old days anymore, now they have more major societal effects, including gender inequity. But somehow, many of the industry are still showing that gender imbalance between man and woman.

In news and entertainment media, women have frequently been underrepresented with minor changes in proportions over the past decade. The female characters often depicted in film and television cast gender stereotypes and the likelihood of women, specifically young women, to be hypersexualized in film is far more expected than men.

Not just younger woman, even older woman also being portray as sex icon in order to have more discussion on the advertising or brand.

Entry 02 - Women in Politics Margaret Thatcher

Women in Politics
feat Margaret Thatcher

The presence of women in politics has been a contentious issue throughout history. Women now have the right of voting and also to lead a political party.

Now here featuring Margaret Thatcher (Margaret Hilda Thatcher, Baroness Thatcher). She was the first female prime minister and also the longest serving prime minister.
She was given the title "The iron lady" as how she was portray to the public.

Margaret Thatcher remains an intensely controversial figure in Britain. Critics claim that her economic policies were divisive socially, that she was harsh or 'uncaring' in her politics, and hostile to the institutions of the British welfare state. Defenders point to a transformation in Britain's economic performance over the course of the Thatcher Governments and those of her successors as Prime Minister. Trade union reforms, privation  deregulation, a strong anti-inflationary stance, and control of tax and spending have created better economic prospects for Britain than seemed possible when she became Prime Minister in 1979.Critics and supporters alike recognise the Thatcher premiership as a period of fundamental importance in British history. Margaret Thatcher accumulated huge prestige over the course of the 1980s and often compelled the respect even of her bitterest critics. Indeed, her effect on the terms of political debate has been profound. Whether they were converted to 'Thatcherism', or merely forced by the electorate to pay it lip service, the Labour Party leadership was transformed by her period of office and the 'New Labour' politics of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown would not have existed without her. Her legacy remains the core of modern British politics: the world economic crisis since 2008 has revived many of the arguments of the 1980s, keeping her name at the centre of political debate in Britain.
